Robin Cerutti

Robin Cerutti, represented at Maison Contemporain, is a french photographer who has a very atypical career path. He holds a doctorate in microelectronics and nanotechnology, and it was in 2006 that he began working in photography. For him, photography is mainly a medium for capturing light.

He is mainly interested in the impact of light on bodies and space through water and its play of reflection and undulation. Using digital and film cameras, the artist captures the interactions of water and light that act on bodies immersed and reflected by water. Without any structural retouching in post-production, without scripting the shot either, he takes shots of the fleeting moment. The results of which oscillate between abstraction and figuration; subtle spaces to destabilize the viewer, who thus finds himself in front of photos whose departure is the real which fades and extends itself in a dialogue between evidence and questioning.

Robin Cerutti likes to say that he makes a kind of surrealism totally real.
